Inner Best - What Sets Us Apart

PERSONALISED
A training plan designed for YOU - based on your fitness, needs, availability and goals.

EXPERT
Advice on how to get fitter, faster, stronger and minimise your risk of injury.

FACE-TO-FACE
In-person running and coaching sessions - we like to show, not tell.

The Inner Best Difference
You can find generic running and training programs online, but Inner Best offers the human touch - in-person, specialised instruction and a program that is designed specifically for YOU.

We begin the coaching process for all new participants by looking at your current levels of fitness, any injury history and other factors, such as when each week is convenient for you to train. Your running plan is designed based on this data.

Your coach will analyse your training each week and adjust the plan as necessary based on your progress and feedback. In-person sessions will be organised to provide face-to-face instruction on drills, stretches, strength exercises, good running form and all the elements required to give you a strong and sustainable foundation. Where face-to-face is not an option, regular video calls and access to video resources will be on offer.

The Five Pillars of Inner Best Running

Stay healthy
Don’t overdo it - rest and recovery are just as important as running itself.

Gains take time
Measure gains in months and years, not days and weeks. Know that if you put the work in, you will see results.

Simple rules for a strong foundation

Trust the process
Follow a program to stay motivated and avoid injury.

Run smarter, not harder
Avoid the impulse to overdo it. Most of your running should feel easy.

Enjoy it!
At the end of the day, running is about having fun and feeling your best. Don’t lose sight of that.

About Coach Jarvis

I come from a family of runners. I grew up watching my dad compete in marathons and triathlons. Both my brothers have completed marathons. I have been running consistently since 2019 and over that time competed in multiple distance events (3000m, 10k, half marathon), including completing a solo marathon in 2020 (run on my own due to covid lockdowns). In 2023 my training is focused on the Sydney Marathon in September. I am far from an elite runner but can attest to the benefits of following a regular program and having the support of a coach. I am a member of Woodstock Runners in Canterbury and run socially with members of the club every week, often at the local Cooks River parkrun. As a running coach, I combine my love of running with my experience and passion as a teacher and educator for the past 15 years. I love to connect with runners on Strava so please give me a follow there and I’ll be sure to follow back!
